Chances are if you found my site, you are interested in building your own wooden kayak. This site documents my passion for building wood strip boats and will hopefully inspire you to build one of your own. You'll see how I built my boat (pictured above) from poplar and walnut. I know, I know - kayaks are *supposed* to be built from cedar. Well, I built this boat on a budget and couldn't find any reasonably priced clear cedar.
